A company managed by Lawrence Mayor Martin Oliner faces a Sept. 18 public hearing on plans it submitted to the city of Boston to rebuild piers that city and state officials have said are a public health hazard.

The company, Shipyard Quarters Marina LLC, has submitted plans to the city?s Conservation Commission to rebuild piers at Charlestown Navy Yard, a city spokeswoman said. The company will receive a permit to build within 10 days, provided the plans are deemed sufficient, the spokeswoman said.

The company will also need a permit from the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection to begin work, city officials said.

Oliner declined to comment on his plans.

A Massachusetts judge ordered Oliner and two companies he manages -- Shipyard Marina and LDA Pier 9, LLC -- to fix the piers after city and state officials said they were deteriorated to the point where they had become dangerous.

Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley has also filed a lawsuit seeking more than $10 million in civil penalties from Oliner and his two companies for violating the state's Waterways Act. The case is to resume in Superior Court on Sept. 9.
