While some may argue that "How I Met Your Mother" should have ended sooner, we will certainly miss the show when this final season is complete. The much-talked about mother had not been revealed in the show until just this past season. In the eighth season's final episode, we finally saw the yellow umbrella carrying mama Mosby. Weirdly enough the mom from "How I Met Your Mother", played by Cristin Milioti, resembles a combination of Lily and Robin. Known only as "the girl with the yellow umbrella," Milioti's character doesn't even have a name, yet we almost know everything about her. We're sure more will be revealed once we watch "How I Met Your Mother" season 9 episode 1??but we already know quite a bit regarding the mother of Ted Mosby's children.

"How I Met Your Mother" follows the adventures of Ted, Marshall, Lily Robin and Barney. The story, taking place in New York, is Ted's portrayal of how he met the mother of his children. Sure he's been telling the story for the past 8 years, but we're sure the kids don't mind. One could also argue the show is about Marshall and Lily's loving relationship, or Barney's never ending quest to hook up with the women of the Big Apple. But at its core HIMYM is the story of Ted and the girl with the yellow umbrella. Other seasons may have strayed away from this plot somewhat, but we have a feeling when we watch "How I Met Your Mother" season 9 episode 1?things will get back on track. Though to be honest, we can't help but wonder why the show's writers continue to harp on the Ted/Robin situation when we already have the mother. Or maybe so we think....
