The Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus S7500 (not to be mistaken for the higher-end Galaxy Ace 2) has been officially announced in early January, and has yet to make it to most of the major markets around the world.
In India, it looks like the new handset will become available before the end of this month. Retailer Flikpart is currently taking pre-orders for the Galaxy Ace Plus, saying it will ship it starting March 21. The price is 16,275 INR ? about $327 or ?249.
The new Ace runs Android Gingerbread, and features a 3.65 HVGA display, HSDPA, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth 3.0, 5MP camera, 1GHz single-core processor, 512MB of RAM, 3GB of on-board storage space, and a 1,300 mAh battery.
I?ve played with the Galaxy Ace Plus at MWC 2012 in Barcelona last week. It obviously is an improvement over the older Galaxy Ace S5830, but not a major one. However, the upgraded CPU and those 512MB of RAM certainly make it snappier. As for its design, some might like the look of the older model better.
In addition to hitting India, the Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus should be also released in the UK this month, where it?s going to be available both SIM-free, and on contract (via Vodafone, for example).
