MIT develops fog resistant, glare-free glass, it's clearly amazing (video)
It sounds like it's not just us that spend half our sweet time with lint-free cloth in hand. Researchers at MIT have developed a new type of glass that "virtually eliminates" reflections, and is also water-repellent. By using techniques from the semiconductor industry, conical nano-textures etched into the layered surface that give the wonder-glass its fog, glare and self-cleaning properties. The hope is that the technology will find its way into our many daily screens and even windows. It's not all about gadget vanity though; solar panels lose efficiency over time through residual surface build up, and using the new glass could go some way to eliminate that issue. If they can just remember where they put the ultra-clear test sample that is.

Kim Kardashian Kameos on 30 Rock Live Episode
Dear residents of the Pacific Time Zone: we are very sorry.
Last night, 30 Rock actually aired two episodes, both live, both featuring different versions. Those on the East Coast were treated to legendary musician Paul McCartney making a cameo. Those on the West Coast? Kim Kardashian.
Some might consider that a step down.
Dressed like a professional Kabletown worker, Kim first showed up for a scene in Jack's office, wandering in, shaking Alec Baldwin's hand and using the bathroom.
She then appeared later after one character proposed to another and Tina Fey's Liz Lemom mocked her own show's ratings by saying: "Wow, 2.5 million people just saw that."
Enter Kim and a video recorded and the line: "Now 14 million people just saw that. You're welcome."
"Anyone see 30 Rock tonight??? I had a blast!!!! Love this show!" Kim Tweeted following her surprise visit.
Sigh. Let's all relive the best 30 Rock quotes now at TV Fanatic and pretend like this cameo never existed.

Twitter for Android updated with improved search, push notifications and new discover feature

Twitter has now unleashed their latest update to Twitter for Android though, the verdict is still out on whether or not it's for the better. Rather then just a bug fix release, this one introduces some improvements overall to the app. Search has been improved across the board so that it is now easier to find people you follow as you type, providing a better user experience for auto-completion. The discover tab has also been improved in the fact that Twitter has made particular trends and news articles easier to be found. To round it all off, Push notifications will now let you know when you've got a new follower or have been retweeted or favorited -- all of which can be enabled and disabled as do you so choose.
